Members Scott Keling Posted April 16, 2014 Members Posted April 16, 2014 How is the white bass fishing going for you guys this spring? This is the quitest I've seen this thread in years.
vonreed Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I was down at Swan Creek yesterday from 6 till dark. I saw 3 boats and a kayak fishing on the bluff by the bridge and it looked like they were just killing the whites. I'm pretty sure one boat had a huge stringer of whites. I may be wrong though because I wasn't close enough to see them and I didn't talk to them any. I caught a few by the bridge a few days ago and released them. I'm sure there are some around to be caught somewhere between the mouth of Swan on up to the first riffle somewhere. Or up towards the dam.
Dutch Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I have only had one trip where we both limited. I got tired of spending all the $$$ for gas so I have quit going. This year looks a lot like 2003 to me.
Roger Craig Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Going to try Beaver, Swan, Dam area tomorrow, fingers crossed.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 i went last Sat afternoon, Put in at Beaver and trolled with flicker shads. Caught 1 nice sow right off the bat kept going picked up a short walleye and another sow. trolled from the first bend to about as far up as we could get the boat. Water temp around 62. Went up to swan water was 51 until swan and i think i saw 64 at one point. only caught one nice white on a rooster tail and then headed back to beaver and caught a couple small males. not near as many people as you normally see this time of year. I was kinda wondering if they know somthing i dont
rainbow Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 There are no white bass in Bull Shoals. aarchdale caught the last of the live ones and the rest died in the cold winter. Go to Table Rock and fish there they have plenty.
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I haven't been out this year due to some problems, but the hotspot on Beaver is generally at the Kissee Mills camp on 160. I don't think the water level would hurt a lot unless it's over the old dam base. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members Luke918 Posted April 19, 2014 Members Posted April 19, 2014 Went out last week caught 3 whites 16, 17, 18" all in the same hole and then nothing. Was down and across from Cedar Creek in 6-8 foot of water.
Nighthawk Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I wonder how the new lake levels have changed the fishing in the Bull Shoals tributaries. I know the minimum flow has changed the White River below the dam A LOT, and I don't like it at all.

Not sure how it became so popular or produced a world record? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
