Ham Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I freqking love the new minimum flow and I think the new 659 as normal is really going to help the warm water fish of Bull Shoals. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Ham it will help the spawn for awhile with all the new cover, but then it will just be Bull Shoals again with a lot of access gone. The Bull also suffers from being the holding pool for the lakes above and it has been brim full in the past, what will the head start do? Economically it will hurt up above and I wonder what it will do for waders down below. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Ham Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I understand the "new" cover in Bull won't last forever. I hoping for good spawns for a while 659 doesn't restrict my access at all. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

No doubt, but this upper end had a lot of bank fishermen. I would guess that on any given warm weekend there would be over a hundred people between the Pothole and Beaver creek. Most of that is gone now. Maybe 25% is still available, but the logistics have changed. I can only imagine how many people it affected lake wide. For me the question mark is why was it deemed important after all these years of success. Follow the money maybe? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Nighthawk Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 "Really? Apparently the trout were just barely getting by for preceding 60 years. Not sure how it became so popular or produced a world record?" Wayne, if you'll notice, I didn't say it wasn't good for the trout, I said I didn't like it.
