Hazbin Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 The piers and steel is in place and appear ready for the gate. Barricades are already in place just beyond the attendant building, thus blocking entrance to the park.
denjac Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 They will spend more money closing it than it would take to run it for a year. What a waste. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. Old plug Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I know the Army has access to some highly photographic equipment should be available to the Corp of Engineers. Cameras seem to catch a lot criminals in stores and gas stations. They would not even have to buy it. i am sure there is a lot of of units floating around in DOA. But then again there may be other reasons. I am sure the corp catches a lot of heat from locals. maybe too they feel like if they had cameras proper would be on there back about invasion of privacy.
merc1997 Bo Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 my opinion is if we just keep letting the corp do as they please, we just might not have any access to any lake one day. bo
Quillback Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Seems useless to write or email the Corp. Once they decide to shut stuff down they do it no matter what, the bureaucratic mind is incapable of creative thinking. Best thing to do is contact local politicians and get them to wrangle with the Corp.
Members Craig Posted April 20, 2014 Members Posted April 20, 2014 Hazbin hope that means we can still launch at the ramp at the back of Vinney?
Hazbin Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 Hazbin hope that means we can still launch at the ramp at the back of Vinney? You can now until the complete the installation of the gate at the front entrance.
Old plug Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 You know if you people down there want to do something the way to go is through your US Congressman. A bunch of you need to get together and write a letter. You. got to tell them what they did and the hardship it will cause you. They ned to know. How silly it is for them to try to stop theft in this way. I am assuming that it would be possible to circumvent the gate. ???? Some of what Merc 1997 had to say sounds good also. be direct and strong sounding no soft soap. It will make you just look weak. If you do not. do this as a group effort. Your going to have about as much impact on the outcome as posting on this forum. When some member of congress gets a letter from just one person. I can tell you that he may not even read it. His little helpers will send your letter to the Corp of Engineers and politely say " pease read the attached correspondence and formulate a reply so that I may reply to my constituent." I am quoting here I have seen plenty of them. But if you do it as a group the rep are whatever will I think will take notice and dig into it. Senators are A--- H------
