Justin Spencer Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 You said a ton right there. I think Alden was pressured pretty hard to make this hire. Not that I don't think he'll do a good job. I'm on board. Have to give him some time though. Where is Justin with the "she" jokes? C'mon man! Glad to see a woman finally coaching a major D1 program, it's about time. (how's that?) Wayne SW/MO Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Why would Anderson have any problems recruiting? He's from Missouri and has been a successful college coach in Missouri? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

BATCAB27 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Why would Anderson have any problems recruiting? He's from Missouri and has been a successful college coach in Missouri? From what i understand he's a defense first guy, which I like. But not alot of McDonalds All Americans lining up to play defense these days. If he stays with that philosophy, which I think he will, and recruits those "kind of kids" if you will, and gets them to play team ball then I think he will do fine. MIZ
ness Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Ness, just wanted to say that I owe you an apology. At a time when Mizzou was getting trashed by literally everyone, you tend to put your guard up super high against anyone saying anything that could be deemed as an insult. But that's not an excuse. Thanks for noticing. I try and stay out of the gutter, you know? Seriously -- That's a pretty exciting hire for you guys, what with the history and all. Just listened to him on the radio on the way home. From that and other things I've heard he seems like pretty solid guy. John

But I am looking forward to watch a team move their feet instead of just swatin at the ball when the player dribbles by. Mark Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Great hire and the only choice considering the state of Mizzou basketball. Mizzou was hard to watch this year. Expect to see more team oriented play, defense, rebounding, and some tough bigs. I hope fans give him some time. He'll get some four year players and put a TEAM together but could struggle with growing pains. No more juco transfers and players only interested in stats.
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 One never knows how a coach in any sport will play the game. The better coaches play the game according to the players available. Time will tell how Anderson will play with what he has. He didn't do too bad in division II and they play a much stronger game in BB then they do in FB. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
stlfisher Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 The guy can coach for sure. I worry about a bit about his recruiting. I am more sold after listening to the press conference. He seems like a standup guy who fans will want to see do well. Tim Fuller staying on was a big announcement today...he can recruit. Can anyone name the three other coaches who interviewed in 1999 when Quinn Snyder was given the job? 1) Kim Anderson 2) 3)
