Bitethis Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 So I took everyones advice on the senko style worm of choice for the nedrig and used elaztech, along with superglue...which seemed like a lot of work to me. It paid off, naturally. My question is this: does anyone use elaztech products for anything else? The swimbaits on a-rig, craws on jigs, etc? Basspro has a very limited selection of ZMan baits, like 4 kinds of plastics I think. Tacklewarehouse has over a dozen different kinds of baits. The downfall for me is needing to superglue them to your terminal tackle, don't do well in the heat of summer (inside your tackle box), and if they come into contact with other plastics they just melt. For all of that, the upside is they last through 10x the fish when you are actually using them. However, I don't hear of many people using anything other than the Zinkers.
Members DerekB Posted April 29, 2014 Members Posted April 29, 2014 I used the Z-man Fatty-Z in green pumpkin w/ black flake just last week on a split shot rig. I used a 2/0 worm hook Tx-rigged and caught fish. I also used the exact same setup using the Strike King Zero in PB&J and it worked even better.
motoman Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 The strike king ElaZtech finesse worms are great on a Shakey head setup.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I got some zman crawz in tournament goodie bag, been using them on wobblehead and as a jig trailer. i used to get the pinchers torn off of my craw trailers, with the zman's haven't had to replace a trailer yet. the durability of the zman's is outstanding.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Several of the craws are good, especially the new turbo craws (think speed craw). The minnows swimmers are good on a head, or on a scrounger. Most of the worms work well. There are a couple of odd ones.
Members riverfish86 Posted April 30, 2014 Members Posted April 30, 2014 Last weekend I caught a ton of fish on a 5" PBJ zinker on a 1/8 oz screw-loc shaky head. It is a PITA to get it on the screw loc but its there, you can fish it until you break off. I caught 30+ on the same worm and they keep getting better with more fish.
Members Craig Posted April 30, 2014 Members Posted April 30, 2014 I have been using the Strike King Zero in PB&J finesse worm to drop shot for the last 4 years seems to work just as good as any other and last a whole lot longer. Like catching 20 fish on it and the fish do not through it off the hook shaking their head.

Cut the screw lock off, and treat it like a straight shank worm hook. Run the zinkerz up and glue it to the lead head. Flat awesome shakey head bait.
bluebasser86 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Zman baits are my favorite on a Crig because they float off the bottom. The turbo crawz and flappin crawz are great jig trailers. Diesel minnowz and grass swimmerz are good on the rig. The Zinkerz are good on a shakyhead or split shot rig. I've really become a fan of the Palmetto Bug because the back end floats off the bottom like a craw in it's defensive stance when I'm flipping weeds and brush. It really seems to get bit well if I pitch it in and let it soak for several seconds before moving it. Usually the strike is immediately after I move it like the fish was watching the bait and waiting for it to move. The finesse worm is good on a drop shot. I like to use braid with a leader because it floats and the worm floats so you can drop it down and the worm almost suspends off the bottom and just sways with the current. Some days it's basically just drop it down and let it sit for a few seconds then close your bail and reel in your fish
