stuartsx5 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 My family is camping at Mill Creek campground in June. Looking to rent a slip to keep my boat in for a few days. Can't seem to find one on the internet, does anyone know of slip rentals fairly close to Mill Creek campground? Thanks in advance. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
Members BiteMeBaits Posted May 5, 2014 Members Posted May 5, 2014 Might try looking at the place formerly known as Port Of Kimberling Marina. Its right there at Kimberling City and just a couple miles down the lake from Mill Creek. Last time I was down there it looked like it was ran by a private party but I believe it is still called the Whats Up Dock if I am not mistaken.
stuartsx5 Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 I need to call them. I looked online and they don't show daily rentals, only annual. I will call and see what they say. Thanks for the reply. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
Champ188 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Your boat and gear would be safer if you just loaded it on the trailer and kept it at your campsite.
dtrs5kprs Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Your boat and gear would be safer if you just loaded it on the trailer and kept it at your campsite. There it is. I thought maybe that suggestion was just too simple. Especially since you are staying at one of the better situated ramps on the lake.
stuartsx5 Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 Is the crime that bad on Table Rock? I have never rented a slip till this weekend on LOZ and realized how handy it is to have the boat on the water. I was never concerned about my stuff but I was staying at Windermere and the only other people in the slips were two church fishing tournaments. If it is that bad down there I will just keep it at the campsite. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
vacation Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 In ten years having my boat in a slip on table rock I have not had a problem, just dont leave stuff in it. Sure is handy to have boat in water while on vacation. Next week six of us are headed to lake of ozarks for five days for the 20th year with 3 boats in slips and haven't had a problem. Not saying it cant happen, just be wise about it. Not sure where to point you in your situation, start making calls in that area, maybe boat repair shops or dock builders, they might know
Bill Babler Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 On the subject. Pulled into Hoot Owl one day last week with my dentist clients. The second big dock on the left fork is a 24 slipper. All the boats on the lifts on the lake side had the motors prop-less. There were props on the engines on the cove side. Either half the dock owners removed their props for the Winter or someone took them off and they are all being cleaned and will be brought back in like new condition. Ya Right. The lake side of that dock is not visible to anything but the main channel. Got a feeling someone slipped in one night and helped themselves. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

If it is that bad down there I will just keep it at the campsite. Boats have a bad habit of cutting their lines at night, removing all their gear, and beaching themselves on run out points. No one knows why they do that... Know to many people who have had that happen to trust mine to a slip. Never mind the damage a dock will do to your boat in a storm, wind, or when the big boats come out to play. I cringe just slipping to trailer on weekends.
stuartsx5 Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Thanks for the info everyone. I will probably just trailer it for the weekend. The only time that is a problem is if there is a tourney out of there and the parking and ramp get a little stressful. My son navigated the parking lot and ramp last year during a tourney and did a fine job but my wife gets extremely stressed. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
