My HDS 7 went bad and cusyomer service told me to find my reciept. With some help from Daniel at Mobile Marine he found my original purchase date. Bad news was that it was purchased in Feb. 2012. My claim was made in April. I was told it was a 2 year warranty and that I was gonna have to buy a new one. I asked to speak to a higher person in charge. Explained my story. I had purchased 2 hds 7s and a struture scan in Feb. 2012. I acknowledged that I was out of warranty my 2 months and asked if there was anything he could do to help. Without hesitation the supervisor authorized for me to get a new one if mine was found to be bad. Sometimes it pays to be up front, honest and ask for help. They will be getting my business again in the future.

That's awesome. I have an HDS10 and HDS5 on order with the new boat. I too have also heard after about 2yrs you can potentially have an issue. I sure hope not for the price you have to pay for these things. I think warranty work is Lowrance's biggest downfall compared to Hummingbird.

I have found that in the last 2 years Lowrance has done a positive 180 degree turnaround.

Tech support and service on the phone had been so poor that you thought you were being "punked"

My recent calls for advice and service have been very good. Kudos to a good company that addresses an issue and strives to fix it!!

Good to hear that Lowrance has finally figured out that they are not the only game in town. Humminbird has provided great service to me on a few issues in the past.

Hummingbird has 2 year warranty also. Daniel at Mobile Marine said Hummingbird and Lowrance are both pretty strict on the 2 year deal now a days. Not one better than the other anymore.

Very true. I looked at HB briefly due to cost factor. They can be significantly cheaper than Lowrance but the quality of the 2d sonar from Lowrance is so much more advanced than HB from the brief research I did on other forums and discussions with other users. The HB has the most hi-def side imaging (Lowrance calls it side scan) and downscan (Lowrance calls it structure scan) compared to Lowrance. But in the end, I'm familiar with Lowrance products and liked the options overall.

I've spoken with several Lowrance tech supports and sales reps over the last 2yrs in preparation for my investment and I feel pretty solid about them. Really glad they owned up to a warranty issue and did not hold you to the letter of the date. That could sour a loyal customer over something small and petty. They are better off taking care of someone and growing their market vs. offending a customer and having them spread their disappointment across the net.

Ranger RT188 with the 115ProXS. I wanted a boat that could fish rivers, lakes, etc. I also wanted something that was easy on fuel when towing, a large fishing platform, and something I can take way up War Eagle or the White without worrying too much.

They are selling them faster than they can make them currently. Every boat in the US is sold pretty quickly. Most dealers are having to order. The crappie version is selling the best.

Should be here in June.
