Sac River Jim
Hey Jim How big do they get in the Stockton? I caught 1 once didn't weigh or measure but it had to be 12 inches long and 1 1/2 thick ? DPrice thats a pretty big gill dprice i dont ever catch any giant ones but i catch my share in the 1 to 1 1/4lb range usually on night crawlers in the summer. i did find this on the subject tho. Stockton Lake Stockton Lake is home to the Missouri state record for bluegill at 3 lbs. Here you can find miles of untouched shoreline and over 25,000 acres of water. The fresh, clear water is an ideal habitat for bluegill and contributes to their bountiful numbers. The prime depth to fish for saucer-sized bluegill is 15-20 feet. Using a nightcrawler for bait is also recommended. dprice
I don't catch many other than by accident on a grub or something ....only one I ever caught. About the size of a rock bass ? Wont forget the marking on his gill plates Impressive Any how I read comments on catching them and I remembered this catch ? It pulled line. I always looked at them as forage ? Keep the good posts up Dprice Dprice priceheatingair.com
REDSOXWSCHAMP
Lol. Seems I struck a nerve with something. Was it the fact that I can catch big fish. Or the fact that you don't have any facts. I catch plenty of 15" fish. And I catch plenty of big fish. Keeping one or the other(size or species) doesn't not affect the lake which we all agree is full of fish. And in a week the lake will have millions more(fry) to make up for the 6 in the grease. I abide by the laws. Which are in place for a reason. Just because one angler does not follow your strict guidelines. The lake will not go dry. Hope to see you on the water. no you didn't strike a nerve, i'm just done with you. When you grow up and become more mature then come and talk to me

powerdive
Let's review: Poster: Had an awesome day, caught a bunch, kept these mid-size chunkers for granny's table. Most: Beauties! It's your legal right to do so. Well done! One: You hurt the fishery by keeping that size fish. You should keep smaller ones, or better yet, eat other species and release all bass because they're special. A Few: Agree with One. Most: Disagree with One. Biologist: You're NOT going to hurt the fishery, even if 65% of all creeled bass are kept (proven fact). Fishery is managed to allow keeping. Babler: You ARE going to hurt the fishery if all creeled bass are kept. Everybody: Jump in, fan the flames. Poster & One: Descend into mild acrimony. Result: Everybody sharpened their typing skills.
