Members Rory/MO Posted May 16, 2014 Members Posted May 16, 2014 Going to be getting a ML baitcasting setup this summer to go along with my 6'6" medium spinning setup that I use for creek/river smallies. Not really wanting to spend much more than 100$ on the rod alone. Have been looking pretty hard at the CarbonLite from Bass Pro. Looking to use it for fishing jigs, spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits. Thanks Rory
Old plug Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 If it feels right in your hand then buy it. Thing about rods you just got to live and learn. thats why a lot of old guys like me have closets full of them they do not use.
Terrierman Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Check out Temple Fork rods. Fin and Feather in Springfield is where I bought mine. Shimano Chronarch on it and I think it's a pretty sweet set up for the same thing you are wanting.
rps Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Check out the 6'6" Medium Falcon BuCoo at Tackle Warehouse. $99 and free shipping.
TRRANGER Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 TFO Temple Fork Outfiters, Awesome Rods designed by Gary Loomis $100.00 should have a action to fit your requested uses. I love the 7 that I own, pair it with a lews reel and you have a really sweet set up.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I have 3 carbonlite rods and everyone of them is light and comfortable enough to fish with all day. both baitcaster rods have a bps pro qualifier reel on them.
Kelroy Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 My favorite river rod is my Abu Garcia Vengeance 6'3" medium. Works great as a finesse rod at the lake. Usually around $70 but can be hard to find. From the kayak I like a Berkeley 5'6" Lightning Rod. Very handy, $40 at wally world.
