Similar to the "if you could carry only 5 soft plastics on Stockton" thread another gentleman started, what would be your guys' list of Summer hardbaits for this lake? I've only fished it a few times and will be down with some family in June. I spend most of my time fishing LOZ, didn't know if there would be much variation between the two. Big worms are usually the summertime ticket on LOZ.

So far I'm thinking:

1. 1/2 oz pop max popper

2. One-knocker spook

3. 1/2 oz silent xcalibur squarebill

4. War Eagle gold/silver double willow spinnerbait

5. War Eagle finesse spinnerbait

Posted

1. Excalibur XR-50 rattletrap - Foxy Lady

2. Pop-r - shad color

3. Strike King Spinner Bait 1/2oz, White/Chart.

4. 1/2 oz Blk/Blu Jig

5. Bomber Model 6A - Dances Fire Tiger

These are colors specific to Stockton, I would use similar/Same baits on diff lake, may change colors though.

1. strike king 5xd-sexy shad

2. strike king 6xd-neon bluegill

3.strike king 1/2oz double willow spinner bait-sexy shad

4.chug bug-chrome/bluew/orange stripe on belly

5.lucky craft sammy- same color as chug bug. sometimes i will tie a leader to the rear hook hanger then tie a weightless fluke on it usually in a pearl or smoke color. leader length 10"-15"

Thanks for all the feedback guys, and for mentioning good colors. It's crazy how much they vary from lake to lake. Seems like I've heard purple get mentioned a lot as a good color down there.

rarely touch them summer time or any other time.

I figured, just wanted to know what to have tied on just in case :) never wanna miss out on a squarebill bite if they're spankin' em!

Purple is good at stockton and PB&J really good at TR. Chartrues is an often used and overlooked color at stockton, especially the south end of the lake where it is more muddy. I hardley tie anything on at stockton without it being or having chartrues, its deadly.

On the other hand...I would probably not ever use Chartrues at TR, except in rare situation/condition.

Considering the PBJ Ned has become the staple bait down at the Rock! I can't think of a fish that thing won't catch.

I'm with you Bitethis, any time there's some color in the water chart is a safe bet. Especially when smallies are in the equation :)
