Smalliebigs Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I am going to do my Coosa from the Kirkwood ramp to Fenton city park, so if you see a freak standing on a kayak don't run me over. I will be looking for fish with teeth if that gives you any clue and hopefully will have a report for ya.
Hog Wally Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Ha! Okay I will give some details. Caught everything !! Walleye spots smallie ( singular) drum largemouth catfish Will u post my walleye picture for me ? Can't figure out how to. Cranks! Water 75 degrees. Lotta shad. Oh I forgot the whites. 6' rise coming down so I'm headed to Truman. I feel I finally figured that stretch of river out. It's tough though.
WHARFRAT Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 ohhh, so you're going after the great white shark, are ya? @lozcrappie Â
Hog Wally Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I was hoping for some trolling for hybrids and walleye cause that type of fishing is conducive to a boat full of women and kids . The meramec will be tough until this push of water from steelville goes past.

Kayser Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Took the kayak out Sunday morning from the ramp off Marshall, down from Simpson park. Fished downstream, deep cranks and crawler harnesses. Missed a few bites on the crawlers, one more on an orange twister grub. Only slime came from a snagged buffalo. Not good. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Hog Wally Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I used 4 to 6 ft divers and stayed in 2 to 6 ft water. Seen a lot of top water action up on shallow flats. Probably largemouth. I did catch a nice smally under 141 bridge. That spot is getting hammered though. Very odd looking bass down there also. Shaped like a goggle eye colored like a smallie. Caught several of these morphed fish. Not a prop friendly stretch of river. Several times I unknowingly went through 2 to 3 inch shoals with no noticeable ripple to give it away! That could ruin a rig. Did see another Riverpro. Kayser, was that u downstream in kayak from us?
