Members caseysmith14 Posted July 17, 2014 Members Posted July 17, 2014 Hills to 7 would be 22-23 maybe. I pretty sure they would do that shuttle for you. That just may have to be it. How do you think that float would compare to something like Roubidoux Creek to Boiling Spring CG? That's about 27mi but we could do that in 3 days, we always seem to run ahead of schedule; just worried that may become a traffic jam come Saturday.
Flysmallie Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Not sure, never been below 133. You must be an eager floater. We are going for 3 days and are looking at 17 miles like it's a little too much. We are slow and like it that way.
Members caseysmith14 Posted July 17, 2014 Members Posted July 17, 2014 Our group has 2 avid anglers and 1 who couldn't care less so he keeps us moving faster than we'd like at times. I like fishing thoroughly in the morning/evening but if the bite dies in the middle of a hot day sometimes even I opt to lay the rod down and paddle!
Terrierman Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 There are a lot of long pools between Roubidoux Creek and Boiling Springs. You will get your arm exercise for certain.
riverrat Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Stopped by the campground this morning. Nobody was around, left a message at their number, no reply yet.
riverrat Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 The last 7 miles above Boilng Springs is jet boat central on the weekends. Most jets stopped at the Big Piney in years past, that is no longer the case. I floated from Hwy 7 to Schlict Springs the day before Memorial day and saw 22 jet boats. The river was flowing pretty good, but that was just crazy. They actually muddied up the river for 5 miles, never again on that weekend.

I was under the impression that they stopped at Route 28 but I guess not.

But we've been known to pull up a chair under a shade tree for lunch and be there 4 hours later. I have no desire to paddle too hard.
