Members Dee-MackBass Posted June 10, 2014 Members Posted June 10, 2014 I am headed to table rock with my family this coming week June 14-21). My father in law and I are looking to get in about 4-5 mornings of fishing. We have never fished table rock before. I have been researching through maps and fishing reports. We will be staying near the rte 86 bridge and mostly fishing in the long creek arm. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on places we should check out for any of the 3 species of bass. I don't want to run too far as I only have 25 hp mercury on my Tracker ProTeam 175. Any helpful tips pointing us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

willyfish Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Tie on a topwater, I like a spook, and throw it shallow and out deep. Depending on the weather you'll figure out pretty quick if that's what you should be doing. With the lake coming up and the area your in these fish should head straight for the bushes in some dirtier water. Jig, spinnerbait, maybe a squarebill should all work. Good luck
rainbow Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 If you have that many days to fish I would hire a guide the first morning and learn that area of the lake where you are staying. Here's a link to one of our members guide service. Also check out his post on the Table Rock forum. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com/ A lot of times when we go someplace new we hire a guide to show us the ropes on that lake and it usually has made the whole trip better.

Members Dee-MackBass Posted June 11, 2014 Author Members Posted June 11, 2014 Thanks for all the input and information. I really appreciate it. Looking forward to fishing this great body of water. Anyone ever use Gene Larew's Mega Ring tubes for the smallmouth or the Gene Larew Hardhead Jigs w/ the biffle bug? Thought I might bring some of those along in green pumpkin and dye them with a little orange. Thoughts?
Quillback Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 The Larew Hardhead will work with a creature bait, you'll hear folks on here refer to that Hardhead as a "wobble head". They were biting it pretty good a few weeks ago, and it should still catch fish.
