MOPanfisher Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Currently we increased the outflow from 50 CFS to 100 CFS and will likely hold there unless heavy rains come until next week. Next week the Missouri Highway Patrol will conduct their Swift Water Rescue training class, we will be releasing 2000 CFS possibly up to 2500 CFS (they like it fast), since we are at the end of our spring rise/hold of 841.0 we are scheduled to begin lowering the lake back to the target level of 839.0 anyway, and this way those who may be called upon to make rescues during flood events will get some specialized training.
shockley32 Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Sounds great - thanks for the update. Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?

MOPanfisher Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 Not low, current elevation is 841.68 a little above the spring target of 841.0.

Yes I know just seems low use to seeing Creeks and such bank full this time of year. June always see chance of flooding, which I'm surprised we're not having this problem. Just everything normal ?????? oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 Its been that sort of a spring. No big creek rises, no floods, and probably not as much deep moisture. The rains have kept the grass growing well. Heck when a spring comes and goes and Truman doesn't get up to 720 or so whats the world coming to. It should have been a fantastic year for spawning though, the clear water at a stable to slow rise should have been perfect. Of course we always have the chance for a big flood, remember 1993? Pomme was in good shape until September of that year when it all went to heck, while I was antelope hunting in Wyoming.

'93 I remember well being across the Bridge from Jefferson City in a Boat dodging Grain Bins and Fences evacuating, then going back to do clean up. oneshot
shockley32 Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Did this start today? Didn't see an update on the corp website. Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
MOPanfisher Posted June 17, 2014 Author Posted June 17, 2014 Brad, sorry for the late reply. Yes the changes started yesterday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. By 5:00 p.m. we were at 1000 CFS and at 7:00 a.m. today we went up to 1800 CFS which is the amount the MSHP decided they needed for this training. We will run the 1800 CFS until at least Thursday afternoon then evaluate the lake level and inflows versus the target level of 839 and adjust accordingly. The daily lake info that is posted on our website is only what was recorded at 8:00 a.m. that morning, and doesn't get updated until the next morning. I do have a link to a USGS site that has the inflow from Lindley Creek, Pomme River, current lake level for Pomme de Terre Lake, river level below the dam, and the lake level for Truman lake all "live" if that is of any use I can drop the link into here and see if it works. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv?multiple_site_no=06921070%2C06921200%2C06921325%2C06921350%2C06922440%2C&index_pmcode_00062=1&index_pmcode_00060=1&index_pmcode_00045=1&sort_key=site_no&group_key=NONE&sitefile_output_format=html_table&column_name=agency_cd&column_name=site_no&column_name=station_nm&range_selection=days&period=7&begin_date=&end_date=&format=gif_stats&date_format=YYYY-MM-DD&rdb_compression=file&survey_email_address=&list_of_search_criteria=multiple_site_no%2Crealtime_parameter_selection
