It's been a bit since I've been to the rock. Wondering what the water temp and clarity is in the kimberling and or the dam area is. Also if anyone know what the nite bite has been like.

Thanks to all!

Came off at 1230 today. Temps around 13 were 74-76, some color in places, but clearing. There are some floaters here and there in the creeks to be mindful of.

News sources are reporting 74-78 from their reports.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I will tell you this. It is Summer now, and if you plan to fish that area of the lake after 0800 in the morning, you are making just about as big a mistake as possible. The lake is completely packed and has been all week. Get out early and off before you get just tormented to pieces. If your on a long point fishing and are a full cast from the bank, someone will run between you and the bank. It has happened to me multiple times this week, and it is just getting horrible.

At one point today, looking from my front deck, from the 86 bridge at Long Creek, to State Park Marina, I could count 53 boats. That my friends is a bunch. We are talking about 3 miles of water.

Buster guided for Big Cedar this morning and said the boat traffic is as bad as he has ever seen, and you will flat get swamped if your not careful. He stated at 0700 and by 0800 had already told his folks he thought it was just pretty much going to be impossible as the traffic was already that bad.

I guided out of Kimberling yesterday but went to Baxter and with the Camp kids and all the Big boats I thought I was going to get sea sick. You just could not get away from them on that stretch.

Rant Over

Warmest water I saw yesterday was 75.2.

Same here Bill. Where we were putting in at Millcreek yesterday the guy to my left had just backed in. A set of waves 3' tall came up and lifted his boat up an back down sideways onto the trailer. Watch many points cross point seven like the hazard bouts were there just to be in the way.

You're not making me feel too good about our vacation that starts next saturday. Guess it will be early mornings and double fisting it on the dock (beer and ned) the rest of the day.

cbass12, Bill always says what he sees and his eye is very good. None the less, plan to go out BEFORE first light and fish 5:45 until the idiots make you leave. 2 or 3 hours can make a trip and you deserve it.

It was ugly yesterday as well. Tried to answer a call from my wife about Emily's running injuries and had to take my hand off my butt seat to get the phone. Only had two hands, one to hold the rod, other to hold on. Made for a spot of trouble. Might get better when the Crownline folks leave. At least the poker run type stuff should be less.

As you can tell by my number of posts all I normally do is read, but this subject is a big reality for us who fish most every day. Not only do I see what all of you have posted, but my cove is no wake, of which is very seldom observed. when I ask them to slow down, well you would think I am asking them for all their equipment.
