rps Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Out early this morning and fished hard until 12:30. Two keeper walleye and two that were close enough I measured them but could not keep. 27 to 30 feet of water next to the drop off into the channel. Standard bottom bouncer with one of my crawler harnesses. Nap time. Forgot to add: Two good size spots attacked the rigs in that same depth range.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Great day... top walleye seems to have a disfigurement ( broken back )? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
powerdive Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Looks like a tumor. You see that now and then. We catch several "humpback" eyes on Stockton every year--they're kinda S-shaped, like they have severe scoliosis. Also caught a 19" humpback at Baxter on TR 2 or 3 years back; pretty sure it's a genetic thing. This could be also.
rps Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 The hump back weighed more than the other but was a full inch shorter (18.5). It was also a bear to fillet.
Pepe Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Thanks for the report. It looks like a good dinner after a well deserved nap
Members gatorbitu Posted June 19, 2014 Members Posted June 19, 2014 Very nice! Congrats on the catch.
kjackson Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Meant to ask--are you finding a color preference? If so what is it/are they?
