Feathers&Fins displayed what his Knives of Alaska brand fillet knives can do and I'm impressed. I am looking at buying a quality fillet knife that keeps an edge and makes quick work of fillets. I figure this audience is as good as it can get (respect!!!) :-)

So, what do you like? Around $100 or under is what I'm willing to spend.

Unless someone knows of a mini light saber and then the price limit goes away!! Lol

I just use the cheap Walmart fillet knives and keep them shaving sharp with a Worksharp knife and tool sharpener. They work fine and when I have butterfingers and drop one in the lake, I don't lose any sleep over it.

It's not the arrow, it's the Indian. Buy an 11$ Berkeley and 9 dollar ceramic sharpener to hit the blade with in between filets. Spend the rest on gas for your new boat.

I have 4 of those now. Thus the upgrade.

I'll say this, I can sharpen a knife. I find that I do it often and about every time I use them. I use 2-3 knives for cleaning fish and they still don't cut bones like a red hot knife thru butter. I want something that I can use as a single knife for a few cleanings without having to waste time resharpening. If that exists. Feathers seems to have the solution. His knives are made with 440 stainless and has more thickness to it which makes bone cutting easy. And they hold and edge well too.

I think I have bought and tried them all. The curve bladed Rapala is simply the best in the lot. I know it is cheap but it will out perform expensive knives.

Don't hate me, but I like the Mr. Crappie electric filet knife....HOWEVER, in passing I mentioned to my wife about the "Bubba Blade" and low-and-behold it showed up one day, and I have to say, it's pretty nice. I use it a lot when no power available.

My dad on the other hand as the old school Bass Pro bone handled filet knife with the leather sheath, very nice, high carbon steel and works great, he bought it in the early 90's and has rarely sharpened it and it's still has a great edge.

If you want to cut through bones get an electric. Save the wear and tear on your wrist. I'd like to try the litium ion version of the Rapala electric knife. My original Rapala electric has been going on 10 years. I just buy replacement blades every 2 or three years.

My knives go through not only Fish but Deer, Duck, Goose and Turkey like butter. Fish I only need to polish the edge about every month and Game I need to sharpen and hone when needed. Knives are always a preference for most people these suit me and work day in day out. But on the impressed front I do own ALL the KNIVES OF ALASKA for a reason.

I just cant put an electric to anything, In all fairness to other brands I grew up working the sport fleet out of SoCal and you either got real good with a blade and filleting or you didn't make tips.
