REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 haven't seen very many jap beetles this year, not like in years past. anybody having any problems with them?
Dutch Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Only seen a couple of dozen so far, not like the thousands in past years.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 thats what i was thinking, just not seeing the numbers like before. maybe everybody got wise and stopped buying those stupid traps.
jdmidwest Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I stopped buying the traps too and have not noticed them either. 2 summers ago, I was running 3 traps and filling a yard sized garbage bag full of them a week. I have not even seen one in the yard this year. And I live next to a vineyard that seems to attract them. REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 I have seen a few on the roses, but they aren't even touching the japanese maple, after i had a basal injection done on it
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 We have some hibiscus that are magnets for them and even with traps they get hit pretty hard. This year, I found one a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen one since. They generally peak here about a week or two before the first blooms, but we're a week in and no sign of them. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 i would be willing to bet , the cold winter we had dropped the number of hatch
