dave potts Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Are there any good places to stay near Montauk other than Reed's and the motel/cabins in the park?
Members Illinoisflyfisher Posted July 16, 2014 Members Posted July 16, 2014 I stayed at the cabins above the hill right by happy pappys and they where nice. I think there website is montaukcabins.com
Members Tim McDougald Posted July 17, 2014 Members Posted July 17, 2014 I stayed at the cabins by Happy Pappys, as well, they are clean, reasonably priced and close to the State Park. We had originally reserved a cabin from a place called Blue Springs Cabins, but when we got there we discovered our cabin had been given to someone else....
jdmidwest Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I thought Marlin's had sold to someone else. Last time I looked for them on the web it was gone. A guy from Jackson used to own it. I always use the motels in Licking or Salem during the cooler months when I don't want to mess with camping. Both are only 20 to 30 minute drives and have good eats nearby. The Licking Tarry Inn has always been my favorite. Dirt cheap and clean. Free WIFI. They may still have a pool open. You can run down to Houston for a Wally world trip if you need it. A few good eating spots in Licking and Houston. Antique shops too. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
