Quillback Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Fished with my buddy Jeb today, still having to work to catch fish. We launched at 0530 and motored up to a cove with trees and threw the jigs and some plastics around, I think we got 4 doing that. Fished a couple of rocky points and a brush pile, nothing doing there so we decided to head up to the Kings. We fished several spots on the Kings and only got one bass up there, so back up the White channel we went. We did some drop shot fishing on a couple of gravel points, had some success doing that, mostly smaller fish in the 10-13" range. Fish were 15-25 feet deep, biting cut tail and finesse worms in watermelon and purple. Fished a few rocky points on cove mouths, found one that gave us a few more fish on C-rigged worms and Speed Craws. Last fish of the day was a keeper walleye caught by Jeb. We finished with about 20 bass to the boat, maybe 4 were keepers, nothing over 2 lbs. Water temp was 80.
merc1997 Bo Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 quill, bass are in that stage of trying to get out deeper, but the cooler weather is not helping, nor is the high lake level. did you notice that you went fishing in the future?? i am going to try to get out for a bit tonight. have not decided where to put in. may just put in at eagle rock. bo

merc1997 Bo Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 i did put in at eagle rock and fishing was not good. two keeps and that was it. both came around 25 ft. got on the water just before dark. saw fish in contact in a couple of areas that were around 22ft. did not have any bites though. saw the same strange dense black, 10 to 15ft. thick, goop come up off the bottom in 40 ft. of water, and as it got darker ended up all at the surface on the graph. i have not looked, but they must be running a bunch of water through. i noticed that for a good while, there was a back flow current running. bo
Quillback Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 That's weird that they are not biting at night. I wonder how the Mill Creek tournament is doing?

Hazbin Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 You know what they say Bo, when plan A fails go to plan B, by changing the dynamic 180 degrees.
