Members Green236 Posted August 6, 2014 Members Posted August 6, 2014 We got a late start today. On the water 9-1 Water temp 83.5 Launched at Hickory Creek Total fish caught 14 5 keeper crappie 2 small crappie 6 small blacks 1 small walleye Most were caught on #7 Black/Silver Flicker Shads. 3 were caught on a #7 Fire Tiger before I donated it to a tree. It was too hot to sit still and fling minnows so we trolled the whole time. 12 lb test, 110 fol. 20-25 fow. We fished the keeper crappie area 11-1 and they were still biting good when we decided to leave. The wife got too hot. Only saw 3 boats on the water and they were in a big hurry to get to their spot.
YAKFM Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Nice work, Green. Good to see that you got some fish before you had to seek cooler temps.
nathanhooper Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Nice catch. It's amazing what trolling around will put in the boat. And at that time if day it's nice too. Well, nice to catch fish, not so nice weather unless there is shade.
Members Green236 Posted August 6, 2014 Author Members Posted August 6, 2014 Can't decide which one tastes better...crappie or walleye. Stopped by Vanzant Fruit Farms on the way home. The overripe peaches looked great.
