brittsnbirds Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Too bad she isn't still in there. : ( Was kind of fun seeing her cruise around. He could have taken measurements and had a replica made. Darn I will miss her. Last of the big ones.
flyfishmaster Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Wow. That brown was 26" long and had a girth of 24". Later , FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
upstream Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Pictures do wonders . Why not release her for another day ! .
Members Corky 69 Posted August 8, 2014 Members Posted August 8, 2014 2 Big fish was caught Wednesday 8/6, Milton Barr from Jeff City caught the 12.5 in zone 2 and Jack Buchschacher from Crestwood caught a 10 lb brown in zone 3.
fishinwrench Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Jack was slingin' cheese ?!! Still fighting the good fight ain't he ?
10pointer Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Jacks still at it I see! I saw the titile and he was the first one I thought of before I opened this. A couple years ago a good friend of mine caught a similar Brown in measurements (26" long but 15.5 lb) like that one. Ill find a picture of it but seeing it in the water made it look out of this world...football is an understatement! I netted that fish for him and within an hour landed a 10 lb brown myself... It was a day Ill never forget to say the least. Love those Browns that look like they are going to burst! Sure ashame to see Bennetts big Brown numbers drop Guess I still have Racine,WI to keep my monster brown addiction satisfied!
flyfishmaster Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I have to agree with you 10pointer. Over the last 8 years the number of Browns in Zone #2 and #3 are down (Do they still stock browns once a month in Zone #1?) In the past years and including Winter, somebody in our party would catch a 3+ lbs Brown every trip down. But we have been on a 3 year dry spell now with out catching one over 15". In the winter season, I love to fish zone #3 because of the possibility to catch a nice brown. Later FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
Members Corky 69 Posted August 8, 2014 Members Posted August 8, 2014 They no longer stock Browns in zone 1
