5bites Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up. I wish there was a ramp west of eagle rock. Before holiday island I mean.
rps Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 All of the land suitable to ramp that lies between Eagle Rock and Holiday Island is private. To build an access would require new and expensive condemnation proceedings plus road paving. That will not happen. At 30 mph, Eagle Rock is 12 minutes +/- from Holiday Island. Big M is 20 to 22 minutes. For many of you that is 6 and 11 minutes. These numbers are a far cry from when the lake was built.
balsabee Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I'll second that! The trout in the White, I know this sounds like broken record, managed for 60 years, became world class and even produced a record or two, all without adding an inch to BS. Wiping out most of the good bank fishing areas and the famous Pothole doesn't make sense to me. I have bought some border permits and fish BS often, or did before the flood, so I didn't get an invite. Adding 6ft to the lake is not good especially from k dock up to the pot hole. I really like it when those big stumps in front of k dock and snap have just a couple feet of water on top of them.

For me though when we stay at our friends cabin it would be handy if one was on our stretch of water. The only reason I say this is because we drop in and I have my wife drive back to the cabin pulling the trailer. She hates it. Less distance=happier wife. There's actually a small ramp in the cove I beach the boat but no way am I pulling the boat down to it.
mojorig Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 The letter that we received said "The Master Plan guides the management of government-owned and leased lands around the lake.", "Decisions about land use classifications in the Master Plan may affect future management of natural resources and recreational opportunities." and "The purpose of the update is to bring the Master Plan into compliance with current Corps policies and regulations, identify usage trends and customer needs, and balance shoreline uses with natural resource management." We will be attending a meeting this afternoon about this revision. Jeremy Risley District Fisheries Supervisor AGFC Mountain Home Office - 1-877-425-7577 Email: Jeremy.Risley@agfc.ar.gov
