Members Teddy Posted August 17, 2014 Members Posted August 17, 2014 Fished Thursday through Saturday and fished around KC area. Yesterday I had my best day ever on the rock, caught 7 keepers, best 5 would have been about 14 pounds, Best was 5.5 pounds. Had a mix of LM, spots and browns. exclusively used a Strike King Pro .38 in red shad. Most caught in less than 5 feet of water. I Just love the Rock!!!
fisherofmen11 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 What was the water clarity like? Were you fishing mostly early mornings?
Champ188 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Gotta love when those big uns get on that red spinnerbait bite up in the dirt in August. Did yours have the red painted blades, too?
Members Teddy Posted August 19, 2014 Author Members Posted August 19, 2014 Water was very clear and yes the blades were painted. Here is a picture of my bait... I would not think it would work in clear water, however it worked great!
fishingaddiction Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 You sure did better than I did in the KC area Sunday. Tried TW early then went deep with the drop shot. Not much to show for our efforts in about 4 hours. Would never have thought about a spinnerbait in clear water, high sunny sky, and no wind. Way to think outside the box. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
