Bassmaster21
It is frustrating anytime I feel other fisherman encroach on "my" spot/space, but if anything it just makes me try that much harder to catch one right in front or right behind them whatever the case may be. Little do those other people know they have just unknowingly entered a fish against me. When I look at it that way it sure helps ease the frustration and makes it a little more entertaining/enjoyable. I often catch more fish when people starting crowding in because I focus and try that much harder.
hknfsh
Chill out Prestone. I never said anything about never getting irritated when someone encroaches upon our "spot". There are a few rude fisherman out there...but the majority are good people. I just find your approach to the situation absolutely ridiculous ! You are the reason the anti-gun groups work so hard to take an at our rights to own a gun. Nothing more stupid than a vigilanty running his mouth and making threats. You are a dangerous (not a compliment either ) !! You should have YOUR weapon taken away !
ness
I've gotten to where I just won't let someone ruin my day. It's a challenge sometimes -- it's so much easier to just shoot the jackasses -- but there could be some repurcussions with that. So if I can't reason with them I move on, confident that I'm the bigger man for having done so. John

I'll do my damnedest to out fish you. If i have a spot I'm headed to and your already fishing there, I'm still going to pull in especially if i'm in a tournament. I'll give ya plenty of casting distance between us but if i know fish are there or have been there i'm not going to pass it up. And i'm just fine with someone doing the same to me, so long as you give me the same respect. To the guy talking about throwing rocks and open carrying, That's the kind of talk and attitude that will get you shot. Do you realize how many people conceal carry? I've seen tons of people who look like they would never own a gun that conceal carry. You make threats like that and someones liable to pull on you first, just saying. Start throwing rocks at my boat that i work my butt off to pay for you'll have a lawsuit on your hands and the police after you. I'll beach it or throw an anchor and swim to shore to get license plate numbers if i have to!

MOPanfisher
Life is too short for all that crap. If I am bank fishing and someone crowds me either from a boat or bank, I will either keep fishing and maybe even have a conversation with them (friendly one). If I am fishing from a boat and another person crowds me, I don't get outwardly upset anymore than I would if a dog jumped in and swam around. I fish for enjoyment and relaxation. Be an idiot and start threatening and throwing rocks and we have just crossed into a different topic, hopefully one day when you "show your weapon" it will be to an off duty State Trooper. Most disrespectful folks are like log chains you can lead them to understand but not push them into it.
Members Roy Schuhart
Ha....I just joined and am reading this particular topic. Respect and common sense are the only reasonable way to go. I do believe both of those are in short supply and even though I agree that most people are well intentioned, more and more people seem to be rude and inconsiderate. I havent fished in at least 4-5 years, although each year I swore next year would be different. I like to go to Lake Springfield and watch the fisherfolk along the banks. I have never seen any arguments,,,although a few grumblings have been heard. The only problem I have seen is when folk from other countries come with 4-6 people and often with 2 poles each and they fan out and cast their line and dont even bother to say hello to the person already fishing there. Even then, most people tend to just go with the flow and fish on. I want to try Fellows, especially since a buddy said near a discharge area might be good. Now I read about the lake and the problems with boaters and over all sense of hastle, I am not sure. Probably back to L.Springfield. Id like to go down below the dam. Thats the place I have usually been lucky. There is a lot of water along side the back roads but it is so steep that I dont think it would be easy to access. I have always been a bank man and it is true how hard it often is to find a place that is decent. Too many signs with a wagging finger OR a place is so trashy with junk OR there are many hooks and line in the water that every cast is snagged. Anyway, live and let live, enjoy that youre able to get out. Maybe theres a monster next cast, right? I really want another bank man to buddy with. Lake Springfield again, I guess, after all those nonfishing years. I have a special bait I am going to use and no one Ive talked to has ever tried it....wish me luck, my brothers and sisters. I am excited to talk with other fisher folk.
Bill Anderson
A big mouth and a gun in the open could lead to you being charged with brandishing a weapon....that could land you in state prison for a minimum of 5 years, and as a convicted felon, you would forfeit your right to even own firearms. Better use some common sense, keep the mouth and temper muzzled, and keep the gun under wraps. You sound like a bomb about to go off. I get mad too at some of the idiots and ill mannered people I run into, but it's better to just walk away than to throw gasoline on a fire....YOU might be the one to get burned. I have a friend, a Jewish carpenter, whom you should get to know. If you do, your life will never be the same.
Members Wally Stalker
I fish a lot of lakes around Missouri and I fish fellows a lot and I have never seen so many disrespecful grown men/boater/fisherman as I have seen on fellows!! It is very sad... Fishing and boating should be fun and relaxing but it is hard to do either on fellows with the bitter/disrespectful grown men you have to deal with almost every time I am there.
