Haris122 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Hmm. Never really had to mess with the contents of a battery before. I'll have to check that out now. I've started charging the battery to see how it works, and it seems to primarily be charging it at under 10 amps at the moment. I only had used it once before the boats were put in storage at Bush CA, but it seemed to be at 75%-80% or so of battery power and I'm not noticing that it has increased any in the hour or so that I've been trying it out for. Maybe I need to give it a little more time. I've also read that these chargers don't recharge if the battery is completely dead. How often does that happen for our purposes? And what could I do in those instances if that charger doesn't work then?
fishinwrench Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Check the water in the battery, make sure the plates are fully covered. Add distilled water before recharging if they aren't. Your TM won't pull the battery down completely dead so no worries there.
dave potts Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 My last two batteries were Exides from the Columbia,Mo Menards store. The first one would not take a full charge after a few months so I took it back and they gave me a new one no questions asked. The second one worked fine. Bottom line-I'd use their batteries again.
