Wayne SW/MO Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 At this point I don't see how Mizzou could be any less than even odds aginst GA? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
ozark trout fisher Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 At this point I don't see how Mizzou could be any less than even odds aginst GA? Yeah, I see that game as a total coin-flip right now. It just depends on whether we can get the receiving corps healthy over the bye week and if Mauk can get his level of play back to where it was against Toledo and UCF. Also, we'll need to at least slow down Gurley. I feel better about that after at least slowing down Mike Davis, who is one of the premier non-Gurley backs in the league. He still got 100+ yards but he didn't shred us like I was expecting. Having Golden back in the lineup helped a lot there.
stlfisher Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 I think MU is probably 50/50 for almost every game on their schedule with the exception of KY and Vanderbilt. Still really hard to figure out. Are we a young team that will get better or a mediocre team that is prone to struggle. Defense made improvements and the secondary looked pretty good except for one big play. Offense is still an enigma.

Having Golden back in the lineup helped a lot there. That was my first look at Gurley, but my inpression was that he wasn't so much quick as he was fast and hard to tackle. It will be interesting to see how he stacks up with better OLB and safeties, if there are any? It seemed to me that he doubled his output after being "touched". ozark trout fisher Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Yep, he specializes in yards after contact. Dang near impossible to bring him down and once he gets into the secondary one missed tackle and it's all over. He's not "shifty", but he doesn't need to be. He's the kind of back that will make the transition to the NFL without skipping a beat.
BATCAB27 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Cornerback play will be a big part of this game. I assume they will stack 7-8 in the box on first and second down and our corners will be 1on1. Not going to stop Gurley, but if they can score some points early they may be able to get them out of the running game and make em throw it.
stlfisher Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Holy crap today has been nuts...I know it is early, but I wouldn't want to be on that playoff committee.
ozark trout fisher Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Yep, weird day. Somehow Mississippi is going to come out of the day with 2 of the top 3 teams in the SEC West, as Alabama and LSU are relegated to the role of pretender/spoiler for the foreseeable future. Texas A&M apparently isn't that good after all. The top 2 teams in the Big 12 meanwhile are both from Texas, but neither of them is Texas. Let that soak in a bit. And all of these statements will probably look dumb in a week when all the top teams lose again. It's that kind of season.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Ole Miss must have gone rabbit hunting this week and shot every rabbit and took all their feet in the State... Miss State I have been warning people about. TCU was a total shock to me.... At the start of a normal BCS year I would have said ND and FLS would be two teams ranked high and probably facing each other in the NC they have weak opponents for the most part. But the committee I am not sure how it will play out, I am really waiting to see how this goes with that. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
stlfisher Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 USC lost to Arizona state and UCLA is losing to Utah...and USCe just lost to Kentucky. Carnage this weekend for sure. Auburn looks to be hitting their stride.
