Feathers and Fins Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Across this Nation tomorrow many will take to the fields as generations before have done. Some will be bringing new pups of men and dogs to the field to pass along our rich heritage, others getting together with friends as they have for years past. This is a magical time of year that to most of us meant the coming of age that time in life where we were boys no more but men even if not yet of age to be thought of as such. It is a changing of a season and unwritten season not of Summer or Winter nor Fall or Spring. Though Spring would best describe it as it is a time of renewal for many of us and a time of blossoming for many new to it. Tomorrow is Opening Day of hunting season! Millions will take to the fields for Dove and some lucky few for Geese. Tomorrow is the day that many of us will pass on the history and heritage of Hunting to a new generation and share stories of past hunts with old friends. To this I say to all, remember those who taught you and shared with you this great tradition, Honor them by telling those new to it about them. Honor the traditions, game laws and Game we pursue. God protect us all look after us all and let us get to and from the fields safe. Good luck to all and God Bless all. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
fishinwrench Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Ahh yes, the Dove season opener; Sweat rusts the bolt and reciever on your shotgun, the dogs are panting too hard to smell anything, and mite infested birds spoil before you can get them on ice.
