Tanderson15 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Had stitches removed on the water 10:45 and fished mid-lake. Caught 7 walleyes, but only two keepers one 19 and one 20. Also 4 cats and 3 bluegills. I thought it would be better with overcast and a slight wind, but not. Covered water from 20 to 35 ft. Water temp 76.5. BB with with silver floats and spinners w/ crawlers. Caught most fish in 33 to 35 ft of water. Left lake at 3:00. I'm pleased to see the short walleyes. The 20 inch had some cuts on it. Maybe gar. All spit crawfish his time and last time all over the boat.
Feathers and Fins Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Terry it has been very very tough the last few days and looks like a few more fronts and more rain coming, I wont even think of fishing it again seriously till we get a week of stabilization. But it is making hunting nice, im swatting teal instead of mosquitos. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
YAKFM Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Thank you for the report Tanderson. Could you identify the color and size of the craws that they had eaten or were they too decomposed?
J-Doc Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 The craws are changing colors already. Darn. I just put up my brown jig box. Now I gotta get it back out. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
nathanhooper Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 I have not been out in a while now and this is making me jealous... Here is a curiosity question, have you ever used live craws to fish for walleye before? Makes me wonder what would happen if I dropped a few over the side of the boat and eased around.
