Fishrman Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Picked up quicksilver premium plus synthetic blend by accident. Can I use it in my 2011 pro xs?
J-Doc Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 According to manual yes. I looked this up specifically for my 115ProXS. Also on the Quicksilver website. DFI gives better long term results. One tank won't hurt anything. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. J-Doc Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 It HAS to be Premium Plus at a min. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
jolicious Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I wonder if they are still making non-synthetic Premium Plus? I haven't seen any in the last several months. And I look every time I go to Walmart
GNSfishing Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Academy has it, I buy Premium Plus there when I am in Springfield usually pickup 4 gallons at a time. They also have the best price of anyone around.
J-Doc Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 That is true. It's where I buy my oil. I think Tue last gallon I just got was synthetic blend also. It's actually better anyway. GNSfishing Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 My 2010 225 Pro XS manual recommends to use the Premium Plus. The synthetic is about double the cost per gallon. Premium Plus is $19.99 per gallon at Academy. I think the synthetic is twice as much.
96 CHAMP Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 That is a good price, I generally have to pay about 24.00 a gallon for premium plus
Champ188 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I run the DFI full synthetic in my '13 Pro XS because I was told by my dealer it has less of a tendency to contribute to carbon deposits, especially if you run less than wide open throttle most of the time. FYI, my dealer is in Warsaw, Mo., so he has no monetary interest in which oil I buy.
