Members troutfitter77 Posted September 28, 2014 Members Posted September 28, 2014 Hey y'all- ive been going down to my father -in-laws cabin up near the 62MM around brown bend for a couple of years now but always have trouble catching fish consistently. Are there any places I can find a good fishing report for the "upper" part of Lake Ozark since it seems to fish much differently than all the big dock stuff down the lake? I generally fish for crappie, bass, whites but would also like to get good at catching some walleye and catfish up that way. My son Fisher just turned 4 and im trying to keep him interested in fishing so i usually try to target whatever is biting the best. Any advice for finding consistent information on species and technique for that part of the lake would be much appreciated. Thanks!
crittermo Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 i'm not sure what to tell you, besides this forum it is very hard to find current updated fishing information about LOZ. there's a ton of sites out there if you google LOZ fishing reports but nothing is ever up to date. surprising that there is not good up to date information out there with so many people that fish it. the weekly conservation report is a joke
fishinwrench Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I don't have anything worthwhile to share right now, but even if I did it wouldn't be helpful for very long. Things are in a transition stage at the moment so the best thing I could tell ya to do is "stay tuned", or just go blind and see what you can make happen.
MOPanfisher Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 A buddy and I put in at Browns Bend Friday the 26th. Ended the day with 20 keepers but sure had to work for them. Caught lots and lots of short crappie too. All fish were around brush piles, a few were on shallow piles but most deeper in the 12 to 15 foot range. Like Wrench said its gonna change soon, one of my favorite times is when the move up under the docks and you can flip a white jig way back under and it doesn't sink very far before a crappie has it. Its gonna get better.
