fishinwrench Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I suppose the mention of a jackhammer and some wheelbarrows would get ignored, so I might as well pass.
NoLuck Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I'm sure people are wanting more cabins along the stream and more sidewalks along the stream so people can fish from the bank all along zone 1.
ruthead Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 It is what it is! I hate it but once again money talks. I don't mind them making additional places for people to stay . Not high on "their " choice of location though. Sure would be nice to have more than one very small stretch of stream that can be fished without seeing or hearing cars go by. I may be wrong but I would think that most fisherman that love a more natural and not so commercial setting will still be fishing for years to come as opposed to weekend elbow warriors. I probably am in the minority but sure feel like this point of view is being or desire is being pushed out. As a family that has had a trailer down there at Bennett for over 25 years I find myself constantly and consistently searching for places I can afford to take my family to for peace and solitude and trout fishing. As our fishing adventures stretch out from N.W. Missouri I look forward to discovering the hidden gems I am fortunate to read about on here. Wow! Sorry got on a roll their but I am passionate about things I love. Now to the Royals Game. BE ROYAL!!!! "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
brittsnbirds Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 May have to bite the bullet and just make the extra hour run to Montauk. Or just another 30 or so to Taney. I hate bailing on BSSP but they are pushing me out!! Since they are putting in more Cabins wonder if they have considered about adding another Park Ranger............NOT! The State is just like local Law Enforcement, they put the cart before the horse. Make changes then tell us we have to make it work!!! Just keep piling it on the top. Only one guy I know that doesn't have that problem is NoLuck, he just "blasts" his way out!!
fishinwrench Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Britts, That is the part that blows me away. Where are all the folks that approve of all the changes they have made ? Where can you find someone who "likes it" ? Because every single person I know wishes they would stop, or better yet REMOVE what has been added. Who are they pleasing with all that crap ?

It's all about the Benjamins!! But if you think about it they wouldn't make enough money to buy gas for a weedeater if they were relying on us to pay the bills. The guys I usually fish with only spend $3.00 a day at the park. We all tie our own flys, every once in a while buy a spool of tippett. The big money is with the family units.
NoLuck Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Careful there Pat, you can be labeled a cynic. I have spent a hundred bucks or so at the lodge eating this year. Beyond that I despise spending any money at the park store. Check that. I did buy a couple of t-shirts. All that the place needs is a D9 Cat to get rid of the concrete along the stream side. Along with a few cabins. I find it kinda funny that we go there to get away from the hustle and bustle of urban life yet the powers that be keep making it more " City Like".

That is exactly what folks here at the lake say about Osage Beach.... "They come here on vacation to get away from the city, then decide to move here and bring the city with them".

I hear ya Wrench, I admit I like to have modern facilities close but not right on top of me. That way it gives you the option. The way it's going is that you will have no choice.
