Quillback Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Don't know if you guys know this, but you can google "Player X splits", for example "James Shields splits" and you'll get a breakdown on the players stats, home, away,vs lefties, vs righties, turf, grass etc.
ruthead Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 This will be my oldest son's view for the game tonight. How cool!!!!!! "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"

ruthead Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 WOW! Drill motors and pizza out posting the Royals World Series thread. Who'd a thunk! BE ROYAL! "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
BATCAB27 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 not a good start. tight zone for Shields early, but the 3-2 fastball to Pence with an open base was pretty much the ballgame. Bumgarner is one heck of a pitcher, got the royals batters out with balls out of the zone all night. Must win game 2, luckily for the royals they have their ace going.
Quillback Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Shields has been shaky throughout the playoffs, but last night was pretty brutal. If it goes to game 5 I imagine he's slated to start, I hope he can pull it together by then.
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Duffy looked good after those 2 walks, coming out of the pen.
Quillback Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Yeah Duffy did look good, I wonder if they'll think about starting him instead of Shields? That would be a radical move, I doubt they would do it, but Shields was a disaster last night. I'm wondering if he has too many miles on the odometer. It happens, look at Verlander or Lincecum for example. Great pitchers that throw a lot of innings, lose a little velocity and haven't been able to adjust to being a "finesse" pitcher. Hard to know if that is the case with Shields.
Terrierman Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Too much time off is my theory regarding Shields difficulties. His main problem was control of the change up.
