Quillback Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I hope Mizzou wins that UT game, then it will be - Hello Arkansas!
ozark trout fisher Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Yep. I've got to find something to hate about Arkansas football in the next two weeks for our "rivalry." In terms of the name, "Battle Line Rivalry" seems like a pale imitation of "Border Bar". Exactly what battle are we referring to, and shouldn't we have just gone full SEC and called it the "Ozarkalypse" or the "Barefoot Brawl"?

Exactly what battle are we referring to, and shouldn't we have just gone full SEC an called it the "Hoedown Throwdown" or the "Barefoot Brawl"? "battle line rivalry" is just terrible. What idiot was put in charge of this? With the DGB debacle I don't think any name with reference to "Hoe's being throwndown" would have gone over very well. But I like where your heads at OTF!

Well that's not where I was intending that to go....but figured it would go in that direction so I edited my post....to late it seems. I still like "Barefoot Brawl". The winning team gets 10 free rental canoes on the annual "Bull Float" and tickets to the Dixie Stampede . Losing team gets punished by also getting tickets to the Dixie Stampede.
mhowerton Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I thought this was a good name for the manufactured rivalry, but it hasn't grabbed hold yet. "ARMOgeddon". Arkansas and Missouri maybe will grow into a nice season ending game both teams. Basketball is somewhat building a rivalry. Maybe we call that "Battle of the Anderson's".
stlfisher Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Yep, I like that one too! Battle Line Rivalry...I don't know what that means. As far as Missouri...I really like or defense. Probably one of our best. I think as Mizzou fans we are used to seeing good things on the offense side of the ball while or defense has historically struggled. This year it is the opposite. In some ways were are winning how most SEC teams do...with defense first. I don't care how we win the games, I just want to win them and this team seems to be finding ways. The offense looks to be improving. We are 8-2 that is pretty incredible. Regardless, I think this year has been a success and we have a shot to go back to Atlanta. Exciting times to be a Mizzou fan.
Blazerman Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I like seeing them win as well but at the same time I keep thinking how in the hell did they lose to Indianan. I was at that game and could not comprehend how they could look so inept. Without that lost and even with the lost to Georgia, we could have been in the playoff picture. It will still be great to see them win out and get a late December bowl game. But I can’t help thinking what might have been.

I read a scenario in which MU could get into the playoff picture...It was a list of like 15 things that needed to happen. It was totally unreasonable, but entertaining nonetheless. UT fans sure seem confident about blowing out MU this weekend. Should be interesting. .
Wayne SW/MO Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I could see border brawl, but border war is a historical term moved from muskets to footballs. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
