Yeah, it's easy to read it that way. But after Mizzou left the conference, the reasons to play were pretty much the same as against just any non-conference team. What's the upside?

you could have beat us up in bball and we would have beat you up in football. whats the harm? If Bama jumped ship and went to the ACC i bet there would still be an Iron bowl.

I'm with Ness. The whole historical aspect of the game also included the Big 8 and then tthe Big 12. Once any part of it's gone, it's gone.

The bulk of the reasoning was never about athletics anyway, it was about money. The SEC wanted to expand to get more money overall and Missouri's powers that be were more than willing to take a share.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

They gave TCU a heck of a fight today. Its been a long time since I've been excited about KUs football.
