I NEVER SAID Arkansas was a powerhouse I SAID a forced rival against an Eastern School is STUPID AS IT COMES.... The last game of the season should if at all possible be against a school in your division and conference. That means far more than this made up rivalry they even named the Battle Line, seriously what little fairy came up with that.

Eh, most of the teams in the east are playing opponents in the ACC the last week of the year, maybe rivalries, but they don't effect the conference standings at all. So I don't see a problem playing a team from the other division. As we saw from the Missouri side, there's still every possiblity of this game being very important for one/both teams on the last week of the season. A year or two from now it could just as easily be Arkansas needing to beat Mizzou for a division title- then I bet it will mean something.

I don't like the name either, or trying to call it a rivalry after one game. I think it might get there, but not yet. Give it time, then call it a rivalry and give it a name if/when that actually makes sense. With that said, Arkansas and Missouri are programs that seem likely to be on pretty equal footing in years to come. It should continue to be an exciting, even matchup, with postseason implications as long as both teams hold on to their current coaches. If we keep playing on the last weekend long enough, eventually these two programs will start to circle that game and it will become a rivalry, whether we like it or not.

Stop already,,,, We got the Viagra Bowl and accepted it so our guys would know what it is like to be up at the end of the 4th hour ummm I mean quarter.

by the time we play we will either have a bowl game or know if we are going to the championship game. This forced attempt at a rivalry is stupid to say the least.

Its the truth, Unless either team is in the play-off picture they will either be in a bowl or not by this time, the odds of either being in a potential play-off picture under the current format is pretty low ( this can apply for any school ) A 6-6 team shouldn't be in a Bowl which proves that College Ball is very much about money money money. This is how it has been as long as I can remember, I seldom watch any but the big 5 bowls and typically only the NC and Sugar. I will watch Arkansas if its in a bowl but only if I am not hunting or fishing that day. Unlike regular season where I will hunt or fish in the morning to be home to watch the game in the afternoon, as many fans do.

Now if they ever decide to have a true play-off be it 8 or 16 teams most people only will watch and care about watching their team one last time and don't really care if its the Construction Out-house Bowl or The "Sponsored by Septic Rooters Bowl" they will watch their team that last time. But ditch all but the big 5 bowls and make it worth something and the audience would be much higher and then all games to the end would have meaning.

Under that scenario Neither Arkansas nor Mizzou would be in a playoff situation. Under a Play-off scenario it would be for the SEC Title Bama v Miss St if you look at the Rankings right now as the two best teams in the Conference would play. Then they would go on to play the Winner of say the ACC in round 1.

The Mizzou MVP goes to Jim Chaney for calling nothing but pass plays in the 4th qrtr.

I'm not taking anything way from Mizzou, but you got to admit yall were giddy everytime Captain Fragile dropped back for another pass.

Mizzou found a way to win & thats what good teams do.

I agree and LSU or TAMU would probably make better sense, but these games are normally based on short distance rather than relevance. I think the idea is to allow a more equal balance of fans. In state teams work out well, but in light of that a border works also.

Mizzou's defense was very good, that surprised me.

Late in the game, Shane Ray couldnt be blocked. Thats when I knew it was over for Arkansas.

Shouldn't be a surprise. Our defense especially in the 2nd halfs have been very good this year with the exception of a couple games.

We screwed ourselves for the nat'l championship but have shut down a lot of offenses including the hogs who were touted as a top ground game.
