Fishrman Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Fished shell knob and not very well had 8-10 fish one keeper on blade and wart. Temp still 54. Pretty poor.
Quillback Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 You did better than me, I fished around Big M for a while and up the Kings for a total of 3 spots. I did leave early as it became windier than heck and on top of that my back was bothering me.
5bites Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I struggled as well in the eagle rock area. Three walleye, three bass. I found some small groups of bass on flats but they weren't very responsive obviously. I'd drop a spoon and the school would hit the floor. That's frustrating. The one keeper bass I had on was on a wart.
Pepe Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 We fished from point 21 into Big Creek. Same results here. The few we caught were near docks
merc1997 Bo Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 with all the wind yesterday, it almost dictated shallow fishing, but seems that the day has to be just right for the shallow bite to kick into gear. the way the wind is blowing at my house today, it looks like another chunk and wind day. wanted to get out yesterday, but it would have been trolling motor only for me, so i stayed home. it was just as well because i was busy stuffing packages all day, and have another pile to get done today. if you get out today, be safe with the wind. bo
Alex Heitman Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I chucked around a wart and spinnerbait yesterday with my day on the strong winds in the dam area. Only good for 2 keeps and that was it. Couldn't believe that was all we got with the conditions. Went again this morning and ended up with only 4. Some nice big keeps but there is no pattern or key areas. It's pick a spot and hope they are there. We fished points, bluffs, back of coves. Really hard to figure out right now. The ones we did catch on the wart just really hammers it thought and took drag. Who knows going to give it a other go in about an hour and hope we run Into some.
Fish24/7 Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 slow w/ your favorite jig/craw i like 5/16 or 7/16 when its calm, 3/4 or 1 oz in the wind
Alex Heitman Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Funny you said that. We fished a jig yesterday as well. That's mostly what my dad was throwing and didn't even a bite on it. Didn't understand that either. When the water is this temperature I catch most of the fish on reaction baits like cranks spinners and the jerkbait. They are just scattered I think a bs not really biting for some reason.
5bites Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I think we are heading out in a few. Not the best day to take the family but at least it's warm. I imagine I'll try for some eyes real quick then chunk a wart.
smbasser Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I went out yesterday, launched at indian point. ended up with 14.85 in my best 5, all smallmouth except for one 4.95 largemouth. stayed between indian and cow creek fishing any point that had wind blowing and ripping a jerkbait. fish were shallow <10 fow. Threw a wiggle wart and spinnerbait as well and had 1 fish on each. Ended up with 13 keepers, mostly smallmouth
