I have been told that it may be 1-2 weeks before we have power back at our house. I don't even have a weather head or meter problem. But I'm not complaining because who wants to listen. One thing I have learned is that half of the people that you complain to don't care and the other half wished it upon you.(LOL)

I do hope that everyone is doing OK and that this did not cause to much damage or heartache for you and your family.

I like my bowl...And I am sick of this sleet, now ice, that has been around for two weeks. I know I shouldn't be complaining, there are still homes without electricty. The past couple of days, some buildings with flat roofs and barns in rural settings, have been collapsing. Something I found out the other day, unless you specify on your home and/or buildings insurance policy, that you want coverage from ice, sleet and snow, many are not going to be covered. Read the fine print on your policies.

I drove to Dallas last week for a business trip. Took US 69 through Oklahoma. From about Salisaw south to McAlester the amount of tree damage was amazing. Just about every tree had large broken limbs. Going south on 69 last Monday morning I probably saw at least a hundred Power Co. cherry picker rigs heading northbound, to home I assume. Even so, the motels in McAlester still had a lot of rigs parked in their lots. Pretty amazing thing to see. Power appeared to be restored as far as I could tell in the area.
