Sore Thumbs Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Fyi. Found a school in North Clifty area. Last big creek to the right. They were in the back of creek. Huge whites. Caught one that was at least 4lbs. Unfortunately I was fishing bass tourney and couldn't stay.
J-Doc Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Well that cat is out of the bag. Lol I didn't know. And can't go. That sucks cause I'd be on them if I could. I need to make a pot of striper gumbo with all of this cold weather. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
J-Doc Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 And at 4lbs those were most likely hybrids. They have a double tounge patch. Like stripers do. Whites have a single tounge patch. Catch one 4lb hybrid and it's as mean as a 4lb smallmouth. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. Sore Thumbs Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 The stripes were not broken up. Pretty sure it was a white.
J-Doc Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Yeah I've seen some of those with split tounge patches. Most are broken lines like you say. Still..... Potato Tomato Theyre still some hard fighting fish!! :-) A-rig? (Man I hate that thing. Lost one Sunday and opened up a split ring trying to retrieve it) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! Sore Thumbs Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Jerkbait. My buddy caught a striper on a big spinner bait.
Champ188 Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 4-pound whites are not uncommon in Beaver nor Table Rock. Donna and I have caught them from both lakes. Very thoughtful of you to put that info and specific location out there, Thumbs. Hope someone finds them and has a ball.
Feathers and Fins Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Jason off topic but how you holding up brother? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Sore Thumbs Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Good to go sir. His time was up and I'm at peace with it. He was almost 91 years old. I hope I live that long. He was a great man and I will miss him.
Sore Thumbs Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Champ. Most people here are gracious enough to give out good information. I figured on the rare occasion that I can contribute, I'm gonna do it. Just sucks that the one time I'm in the middle of a huge school is during a tournament. I didn't do worth a crap. In hindsight I should have stayed and wacked on those instead.
