KCRIVERRAT Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Guess I missed the play against the Piggie's you guys are referring to. Anyway, I think the committee got it right for the playoffs. The only thing that put egg on their faces was to have TCU ranked 3rd and FSU 4th just five days ago. That was tough for them to explain when they dropped TCU to 6th. Everybody knew that if Baylor beat KSU they would probably jump TCU based on their win over them. But why put them in 3rd over FSU then drop them three spots after their 55-3 win over Iowa St.? They could've beat 'em 75-3 but gave ISU mercy. Patterson was classy in his interview today. Hope Briles is too... he was bent outta' shape BEFORE the KSU game yesterday since Baylor was ranked behind TCU. Ohio St. is playing great. I mean... they destroyed a very good Wisconsin team at the right time the way this process works. The Big 12 needs to schedule better out of conference games, have two divisions (add two or really four more teams) so they can have a conference championship, and lose their sorry motto. Oh! A quick side thought... if the Big 12 ever wants to be the SEC, drop KU football and add not four but five teams. Vanderbilt would beat KU 70% of the time. Feel bad for UAB's football program. KU football is the biggest money drain in college football. Manzino, Gill, and especially Charlie W. made off with the loot! HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
KCRIVERRAT Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Forgot to say that having the committee fill the New Years games instead of conference's being locked into them makes for some great bowl games come Jan. 1st. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I hate to predict so I won't, but I will point out that "great" Ohio State teams have had their butt handed to them in the past. If they didn't like the Big 12 format they should have said so early on. The reasonng they came up with eliminated them from the start. They talk out of both sides of their mouth. Alabama for instance, I didn't look at the others, played its share of cream puffs also and they didn't play Georgia. They critizized Baylor for doing what they all do. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
stlfisher Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Alabama played in the toughest division in football without question.
ozark trout fisher Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 So Missouri will play Minnesota in the Citrus Bowl. It's relatively winnable as January 1st bowl games go, but they're a good team with a great running back. Frankly, it's not a bowl that is going to draw a huge audience outside of the two fanbases......but it certainly has potential to be a fun game and go down to the wire.
stlfisher Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I am pretty sure the citrus is the former capital one bowl so pretty much on par with the cotton bowl for pestige outside of the big six. Not a sexy matchup, but a good bowl for MU. I think Texas vs. Arkansas is going to be awesome...hope Arkansas smokes them. I actually think are lots of great matchups this year.

Yep, it's the top bowl the SEC could have assigned us under the circumstances, so there is certainly no room for complaint. Minnesota is a very good opponent, who is going to be really excited to be in this big of a game. They are not a big name, but that really shouldn't matter. I too am looking forward to Texas/Arkansas. It might be two 6-6 teams, but both of those teams are likely contenders in 2015. Really, among the SEC affiliated bowls there is only one that doesn't sound exciting (ECU/Florida doesn't get me going) but the rest are great. Even the ones with 6-6/7-5 teams, like Tennessee/Iowa or A&M/WVU (scoreboards are gonna break in that one.)
Quillback Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Yep some good matchups, I hope the Hawgs put the hurt on the Horns.
