Moswimb8slinger Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Finally found those pesky walleye. My freezer has been empty of walleye for exactly 6 months (june 7th was my last walleye). They are a pain to find, but I found them up at the pothole. Saturday, the first bite was on the new Megabass Spark shad 5inch, i knew what hit it because it came up short (bit the tail off the bait). rigged a new bait, this time with a #8 treble stinger on a 4 inch braid harness. Made several more casts and switched up to a clown rogue, and i landed the first one,a 21 incher. Threw that rogue and several other colors and jerkbaits (rc stick & x-rap) and again I switched back to throwing the Spark Shad. Luckily I built the stinger harness as a 24 incher, again, attempted to bite at the tail, but the tail bit back. Sunday I did a little running around and checked beaver creek, last weeks rain has the water flowing in the creek, but didn't find anything biting so back to the pothole I went. Had some hits and finally got another 21 incher on a custom painted rc stick(black back/white belly with a hint of gold) All bites and catches were between 3pm and 5:30pm with nothing after dark
Moswimb8slinger Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 And yes, they were generating water, nothing over the top though.

Mofloatjunkie Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Good to hear of some walleye being caught. I will be headed down to that area hopefully Thursday. I cleaned up the jerkbaits and crankbaits I found last week and replaced all the hooks. Can't wait to give it a try.
