Members hillbillyfisher Posted December 9, 2014 Members Posted December 9, 2014 Went out two weekends ago for a family trip went out on a charter. Had 10 keeper lady fish, and 4 vermilion snapper. Caught a lot of snapper but this time of year they are out of season.
hoglaw Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I've never heard of a "keeper" lady fish. Keep for what, shark bait? They're fun to catch for the first 10 seconds or so, but I've never heard of anyone actually keeping them. But I'm not really a salt expert so maybe I'm missing out.
Ham Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Ladyfish are insane. I have literally had them shake themslves to pieces. Blood, scales, poop, and body parts all over the boat. I like to catch one and then no more. Hopefully, I can quickly release that ONE I catch before it self destructs . Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Flysmallie Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Ladyfish are a blast from the beach with a flyrod. I love it that like to fly through the air while fighting one. I would not want to bring one on a boat though. That's gotta be a mess.
