LittleRedFisherman Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Saw this and thought might be a neat idea for a jet boat. The magnet looks stong. Was wondering if I used this to mount a transducer on my Blazer, that if it did hit something if the magnet would be easy enough to detach to keep from tearing up the transducer. My guess probably not, but neat idea here, haven't checked cost yet, that might be deal breaker...lol There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
LittleRedFisherman Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Upon further inspection, it appears it's for a single wall transom, like a jon boat, which makes since. Not sure if the blazer transom is double walled all the way to the bottom, might be room around the plug? Have to check it out.. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
BilletHead Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Good idea. I think a guy could build his own and use a rare earth magnet. I have messed with these before and they are really strong. http://www.kjmagnetics.com/ BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" fishinwrench Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I'm thinking the concern then would be knocking it off and ripping it off the harness. Then you've lost a transducer AND a 70.00 mount.
LittleRedFisherman Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 68 to 78 bucks for this thing depending on what size transducer.. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
