Members Ffer Posted January 11, 2015 Members Posted January 11, 2015 Looking to buy prescription sunglasses. No-line bifocals. Bought pr last yr (paid dearly) but theyare really not what I want. (my fault). Let in way too much light from the sides. Want some wrap-around type glasses. Have my prescription from last time. But, without trying them on (kind of impossible to order on-line because I want them to fit my face well. Seen possibilities on line at SportRx. Open to any and all suggestions. Thanks

Thanks I've had a pair of Smith (Action) Optics prescription sunglasses with a Padre frame for more than 10 years. Not bifocal, and not sure if their bifocals are no line, but they are excellent. Padre frame has wide sides that help keep the sun out. Excellent customer service -- they've replaced the frame twice. John
BilletHead Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 The BilletHead is to the point he needs tri-focal glasses. Last time my prescription had not changed and my regular glasses were still in great shape. Insurance will do glasses and frames every year. I tried on some ray bans . I had to add some money to get no line tri-focal in sunglasses. This was by far one of the best things I have ever done. They are nice. They wrap around pretty well and no light creeps in on the sides. Members oldasdirt Posted January 12, 2015 Members Posted January 12, 2015 Big thing I found on the sunglasses is they need to be vented to keep from fogging up from sweat plus makes them a little cooler. Look at motorcycle type glass just a suggestion
TRRANGER Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I have the same affliction, I have to have sunglasses in prescription to function. The best I have found are Oakely sunglasses. There lens when curved are the only ones that do not distort your vision when you look to the side. They are pricey but for me the last around 4 years and I wear them alot, not just when fishing. They offer polarized, antiglare coatings, and mirrored lens and several frame styles to chose from. They are strong lens and great frames.
ozarkgunner Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I like my Oakley full jackets Angler At Law
LittleRedFisherman Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 If your wanting some for fishing, give these a try, the best I've ever used so far.. www.vicious-vision.com There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
hoglaw Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I've had Oakleys before and loved them. My current t rx ones are wiley projects or something like that. They have a foam liner on the inside that's great got running fast in cold weather, but I rarely use it. They wrap around great and we're a little cheaper than the Oakleys.
