Members miztgrfan Posted January 15, 2015 Members Posted January 15, 2015 A few buddies and I are coming down for the long weekend to do some trout fishing on Taneycomo but wanted to hit Table Rock as well. We've never fished Table Rock and just looking for some pointers. I am bringing down my 18' jet boat so we can get around the lake pretty easily. Any pointers/tips/comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
abkeenan Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Welcome. Always good to have another MU Tigers guy on the boards. Starting to be to many rah rah Razorback and Dookie fans here to try to fend off. In terms of looking for fishing advice just check in on the boards weekly as guys/gals like Champ188 and Donna will brave just about any elements to soak a line and give a detailed report as well as Bo (merc1997), Quillback and others will chime in. They keep TR info up to date and best take pointers and start from there. Babler usually will post a report or two a week when he has clients but with the cold winter weather he is usually on Taneycomo this time of the year I believe. Welcome and good luck. I am also about 95% sure I will be coming down this weekend to enjoy the mid 50's January weather. Will be in the dam area.
Quillback Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Yes welcome, in spite of the fact that you root for the Tiggers. Here's a report from Pete Wenners, unfortunately he didn't fish last week either, so not much info in this weeks report, but if you look at his Jan 7 report I think you'll get info that probably still applies. http://www.hookedonbass.com/FISHREPORT.htm One thing I'm going to try, is in the afternoon find a bank with sun on it and a breeze blowing onto it. With these relatively warm days there may be a few fish that move up shallow looking for something to eat.
Champ188 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Jerk bait, jerk bait, jerk bait. There are also some deep spoon and grub fish, if that suits your style, but you'll have to find them on your electronics. Donna and I will fish Saturday and post something Saturday night.
