Are we having a feud between the Beaver guys and Table Rock guys?

Come on, really??

Oh no there is no feud. Just jumping to conclusions and Beaver was never mentioned previously in any posts and has no bearing on original posts/topic of this thread.

I was jokingly stating that forums are never short of opinions. Generally speaking and not pointing out anything else. That's when things went south.

Literally.

As in south of Table Rock for some reason. Lol!

No kidding ! Dudes fuel filter has to be kept cleaner than his underwear.

You should see my rod locker! Lol

It's very clean, rod sleeves, tackle stowed in separate boxes that are sorted and labeled, etc.

Sorry. Off topic.....

I agree with your earlier comment wrench. If it was called whale tail more often, it would not have such appeal but some folks need it on smaller vessels as a cheap fix. And it works well on smaller vessels.

As he pointed out earlier....."I got it" so he's got his answer. We were all trying to help out. As always.

I have a Nitro 591 (18'7") that still has the factory setup with a 150HP Merc. on it. This boat was stock with the 135, but the 150 was an option at the time. I wasn't thrilled about how it got out of the hole, and I couldn't reach plane terribly quickly. I wanted to try a hydrofoil, so I bought the SE400 for $80 from Bass Pro because it doesn't require any drilling to mount. I was skeptical, but thought it was a pretty cheap experiment.

After installing, I can come on plane at about 20mph(was about 25-30 before), and I have lost no top end speed at all. There is no difference in handling at the top end, because the foil is completely out of the water, but it did eliminate some torque steer at lower speeds, which was a bonus I never expected.

I like SE400 because it isn't huge, and it didn't require the drilling to install. If you follow the directions, this thing won't move an inch when installed, and I'm more than pleased with the results it provided for $80.

Go ahead and beat me up for my setup being wrong boys! :)

Good for you Longball 22. I may take mine off but why. I get a top end of 57 GPS with 2 and all equip. without it less hole shot and I don't think my top end would improve w/ my old 175 EFI in a 19 ft walleye boat. I don't like the looks, but who cares it's my problem.

Man T. That's fast for a nice rig like yours and a 175. I've been in a 19ft Ranger with a 200 Johnson that couldn't find 60 with a tail wind. Lol! Very respectable top end.

Maybe we should get together in the old rig and spend the day together. I have to to tell you when it's 100 degrees it drops about 3 MPH. Right now it's running good. When wide open and trimmed it gets a little fishy and the 9.9 drags a bit. It also like petro, but it's fun. Only open it once an outing. Normally cruise at 35. But for a 2000 Triton I have been happy. It was the first year for that model. But like we talked take care of the toy and it will last.

The newer Rangers are faster than the old hulls. My 2013 Z119 with a 225 Pro XS and 25p Tempest Plus prop will run 71 (on GPS) with two people and gear.

It, too, will drop about 3 mph in the heat of summer. Props bite better in cold water.

Hole shot is great no matter the water temp. The factory did a really good job of setting this boat up.
