Shell Knob Cabins

I'm going to be staying in shell knob this spring. I'm looking for a resort that has its own boat ramp. Does anyone have any experience with lunker landing?

There are lots of them

Hardman's Hollow Resort Older but well kept hard ramp but owner launches you. Nice dock

Play Port Resort Nice dock and Ramp owners are always around

Big Creek Resort I believe it was just redone in the last few years. Easy access to the mouth of Big Creek.

Whipoorwil Resort Out of town and in the back of Big Creek.

Indian Hills Resort. Very nice with a big dock best ramp and nicest cabins. Probably the most expensive by far.

For some reason the one way up the Kings River is alluding me. All I can think of is Akin Back but I know it is now something else. It is good during the white bass run, but just about to far out of the way for most everything else except a crappie here and there.

Lunker Landing is fine, but it is older. They have a very nice dock but I would probably bring my own linens and towels.

Quail Cove is there neighbor and they also have a nice ramp and dock. Don't know about the quality of anything there as they I believe now have new owners.

I like Pla-Port the best but Lunker Landing is good too. Hardman Hollow is good but not their ramp when i stay there i launch at 39 bridge but they have a very nice dock.

I have been debating between pla-port and lunker landing, because I like their locations on the lake, and they have a decent price. They seem pretty comparable to me. What makes you like plaport better?

Girlfriend, and two buddies. Will be bass fishing the whole time. Looking for 2 bedroom with kitchen.

I like the owners they are good people. The rooms are good, dock is good, ramp is good. Lots of room for truck and boat. It's on a flat point so easy walk to the dock no big hills and you can park by the dock. If you keep the boat in the dock very easy places to drop the trailer. Maybe its just me but when i fish during the day i don't leave my boat in any resort dock overnight. But i would think that there dock would be one of the safest very well lighted and very visible. I do use the dock part of the time when i night fish.

I never leave my boat in over night either, which is why I wanted a resort with a boat ramp. Thanks for your input.

Darrel and Sherry at play-port are great people to stay with at there resort, and Darrel will go out of his way to make sure you have a great time, just make sure you stop to have a cold one with him if that fits your bill, he will enjoy that a bunch, last time i was at the lake i really liked the look and remoteness of whipoorwil resort, an older looking dock but i like the looks of the place
