The chartreuse bomb, the Winni Special, the Okoboji Express! Whatever you call it, brown fish hate the very sight of that color!

Yep...that's the one. Got the tip from a superlative fisherman--the Berkley field services manager at the time--when he was touring Washington. We were fishing a lake with 25+ feet of visibility, and I was skeptical of this spinnerbait in such clear water. But you're right, the smallies hate it. Caught some really nice fish on it. We'll see how the Beaver Lake brownies feel about the combo.

And thanks, guys, for the suggestions. That will help weed them out.

Keep the spinnerbait theme going but if you don't mind id like to add a question concerning spinner bait storage. Like some of my other Obsessive/Compulsive fishing friends out there, who stay awake at night wrestling with the perpetual frustrations of neat and tidy spinnerbait storage, I'd love to here some of what works for those who have figured it out. Not mentioning any names but maybe it best that the 'ziplock bag' crowd leave their suggestions to a minimum:)))

They make boxes specific for spinnerbaits. Small, compact square and cube like shape. Strores plenty of baits. Keeps them dry and if you drill little holes in the lid, they can get ventilation and reduce rust, sticky skirtsz etc. Although I don't have that problem or rusting. War Eagles don't rust and look like new for a long long time. I've had some spinnerbaits for years.

Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message.

He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!

Years ago I bought a spinner holder at Okiebug in Tulsa. It had two plastic disks separated by a washer on an axle that ended on one side with a nut to hold one disk in place. On the other end a round plastic finger piece held the other disk on. One side had a series holes through which you put the sb hooks that were spaced around the wheel. The other disk was solid except for the one slot you could rotate over an empty hole to hang the sb or over the hole that held the sb you wanted. The diameter of the disks was a little larger than a dvd and one storage device held about 30 baits. It was great! Unfortunately, by the time it broke after many years, Okiebug was out of business.
