hoglaw Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Fished under blue-bird skies recently. Wasn't supposed to be too windy, but it was still tough to hold still (and my trolling motor switch broke - it only works when I flip the "continuous" switch). I fished all over the lake with the usual suspects for this time of year - shakey head, senko, fluke. Nada. Pulled up to one of my favorite spots and caught my first fish on a shakey head. I was tieing off or anchoring wherever I went just to hold still and fish slow, so I decided to give the Ned its first real chance. That's all I fished for the rest of the day. Lost count of fish, but it was somewhere around 20 or 25. Biggest ones were a couple of 3lb'ers so no giants. But the Ned really did save the trip. I don't know how you fish that thing without being able to hold the boat perfectly still, but when I did, I had success. Quillback and Ham 2
J-Doc Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Your contact is just not making a good connection. I used to slam my pedal on the deck and that fixed it on my old one. Lol!! Good report and thanks!! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Guest Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 you can fish the Ned in the wind, but you gotta keep the boat stationary with a trolling motor or tying off. Its best suited for slick calm sunny days, but will work any day of the week.

Same thing happened on one of my MG's. Would work if I tapped the side of it before pressing it. Was a pretty easy fix. The little rig will bail you out, and make your day, more often than not. Ham 1
