Feathers and Fins Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I was sitting here drinking my coffee and reading the forum and doing some updating of the two sticky threads and realized there has been a ton of Personal Best fish caught the last couple of months and thought it would be nice to have a thread where people can post their Personal best fish from the lake. So here it is Brag Away show the pictures. All species are welcome https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

kjackson Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 The only digital image I have of a personal best is the bass in my avatar--10-13 LMB out of way-south Alabama.
kjackson Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 The only digital image I have of a personal best is the bass in my avatar--10-13 LMB out of way-south Alabama. Hmmm...can't rotate the image for some reason. The only other PB freshwater fish that fit the forum is a 5-15 smallie from below Wheeler Dam on the Tennessee, a 2-0 crappie from a small lake in Washington State and an 11-8 walleye from the Columbia. bluebasser86 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I've only had the chance to fish the lake once and fell in love with it. F&F I doubt you remember but I messaged you a month or so before our trip and you were kind enough to point us in the right direction and it paid off big time. 2 guys that had never fished the lake, fishing out of a 16' aluminum bass boat with a 60hp motor and mediocre electronics, the odds were stacked against us. My buddy caught 3 PB's, first one was caught in the first half hour of launching the boat, 14.5 pounds on an A-rig. The next day he caught his PB wiper of 6 3/4 pounds on a jerkbait. The final day I caught my PB striper of 20 pounds on an A-rig. Then right before we had to leave, he caught his PB smallmouth of 4.5 pounds on a jerkbait. Many other big fish were caught that trip, including a pair of largemouth that were 5 and 6.25 pounds, another smallmouth approaching 4, some of the biggest white bass I've ever seen, and some very healthy spotted bass. Feathers and Fins Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 Yes sir I do remember, It is stories like yours and others is why I do the reports and other things, nothing gives me a bigger kick than seeing people getting in to great fish and the knowledge that I was able to help them in some small way. Each smile is worth the effort. Great looking fish! sah and kjackson 2 https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Lance34 Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Great idea F&F. Here's mine from Beaver. Caught this Fat Black Crappie in a root infested tree stump that I hope will get under water again someday soon. She was in 3 fow. I was using a slip bobber with BG's lights out color baby shad. Stupid thing is I didn't really have a accurate ruler to get the length and scale to get weight. I would say 14". Not the biggest but more of a memory and amazement of how I got it in the boat. The striper was my first and first time ever striper fishing. Dan the fisherman showing me the ropes and we caught this 20# and change striper. Got me hooked. Now I'm in the works of getting a striper setup together so I can go after them as well.
Dan the fisherman Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Hey nice fish Lance! Lol. I recognize it lol. Great rod control for ur first big striper too. Like you've done it ur whole life. ? Lance34 1
